Moisture measurement in concrete floors: MMS2 can be used for measuring balanced relative humidity directly in concrete. Protimeter pioneered this more accurate method, which involves drilling holes in the concrete, inserting a moisture sleeve to sow and measure the balanced moisture in the concrete.
Flooring product manufacturers typically recommend relative humidity readings of between 75% and 85%, depending on the permeability of the product being laid on top of the concrete. Always use the coating manufacturer's measurements as safe RH and take the sensor's inaccuracy into account. Readings from multiple Hygrosticks can be taken and recorded with ease.
